    BRIGHTON

    Private patient appointments in Brighton are arranged by the Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital Out-Patient Booking Office: Telephone   01273 627008. Appointments for The Montefiore Hospital in Hove are arranged by Out-Patient Booking Office: Telephone   01273 828030. If you require an urgent appointment, please ask them to contact me directly and I will get back to you. If you need to cancel your appointment, please give 48 hours' notice whenever possible.

     

    Secretarial Arrangements

    My secretary is Mrs Gail French who works at the Brighton Nuffield (01273 627048).

    Your Insurance Policy

    If you have a private insurance policy, you will need a claim form which can be completed either by me or your General Practitioner. Please check with your policy that you are definitely covered for out-patient consultations. I would advise you to establish the financial limits set on your policy with regard to out-patient consultations and investigations. Most insurance companies now reimburse direct to the Consultant. Please note that any outstanding shortfall is your responsibility.

    Fees

    These are in accordance with rates accepted by most insurance companies. Usually 30 minutes is set aside for the initial appointment and 15 minutes for follow-up appointments. The current rate is £190 (not inclusive of a procedure or investigations) for a new patient consultation and £110 for a follow-up appointment – charges may vary slightly to reflect time spent and correspondence involved.

    Procedures

    My secretary can provide costings and I suggest you check with your insurance company in advance in case there is a shortfall in cover.

    Accounts

    I will submit an account to you, or to your insurer if you are claiming through health insurance, following the consultation or procedure. Receipts are not automatically issued but can be supplied on request. Please ensure that accounts are settled within 30 days.

    After Your Consultation

    I will send a full report to your General Practitioner which should arrive within 10  days. Please let me know if you would like a copy of any correspondence.

    Problems

    I wish to ensure that you are satisfied with all aspects of your consultation and treatment (within the limits of modern medicine). My secretary, Gail will be happy to help with any problems.
