  • About me

    I am a Consultant Physician and specialist in Gastroenterology and endoscopy. I am also Clinical Director of the Sussex Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.

    I trained at King’s College Hospital, London, then undertook higher medical training in Cambridge, The Middlesex and University College Hospitals in London.

    I was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist to Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals  NHS Trust. I run colonoscopy training courses for junior doctors as well as for consultant surgeons and physicians in the UK and abroad.

    I have specialist skills for endoscopic treatment of jaundice and pancreatic diseases. In 2007 I was awarded the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship to the Medical University of South Carolina, USA investigating new endoscopic treatments. In 2008 I received the Silver Award for Clinical Excellence from the Department of Health.

    I am one of only three accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopists (UK's highest standard for colonoscopy) in Brighton. In 2008 I was appointed Clinical Director of the Sussex Bowel Cancer Screening Programme responsible for implementation and managing the screening programme across Sussex.

    I am the lead author for the current UK guidance on bowel cancer screening for high risk groups including individuals with a family history of bowel cancer, polyps and colitis.
